Notes for Berko “Bernard” ALEXANDER
1828 Hungarian Property Tax Census lists Berko Alexan in O-Falu, Saros, Hungary. [4]

The 1869 Hungarian Census list as living in Ofalu, Berko Alexander, b. 1801 married to Anna Freiman, b. 1801. [5] Berko is an alternate name for Bernard, and Anna is an alternate for Chanah. [6] They lived in the same building as Avraham and Carolin (Lina) Alexander and therefore are almost certainly the couple referred to in family lore as Bernard Alexander and Chanah Freiman. Living in the same building was Simon Alexander and his wife Antonia Roth. This building was a pub run by Berko and Simon.

Probably the Bernard Alexander listed in synagogue records who died April 8, 1872 in Ofalu, Hungary. [7]
