According to Celia Gottdiener Fleishhacker, Anna, “The daughter of the Great Mendel Teitelbaum, was born in 1866 in Austria/Hungary and fell in love with Louis Gottdiener. This so enraged the Great Rabbi that he declared her dead and they were forced to immigrate to America.”
