1900 US Census says that of 4 children, all 4 are living. [877] This would be Betty, Ethel, Rose and Mollie. If this is accurate, it refutes the list of 3 other possible children above.

May have been known within the family as Zollie according to Sallie Diamond Baierlein. [886]
“On one of Sarah’s visits to Ethel a terrible tragedy occurred. She was walking in the street near the apartment, when a boy riding a bicycle ran into her (a second version of the story is that boys playing in the street knocked her over.) She broke her hip. Sarah’s advanced age together with the limited treatments then available made this an unrecoverable trauma. Sarah’s grandson Herbert was a young doctor (or perhaps still a medical student) at the time, and saw her at Lenox Hill Hospital. The hopelessness of the situation prompted Herbert to consent to the removal of life support, and Sarah expired.” [Roy Benedek] [716]
