Notes for Philip SIMON
Described by his descendants as having red hair and being very funny.

Philip Simon's death certificate lists parents as Saul and Leah, both from Russia. I presume that this is the same Samuel and Leah listed on William Simon's death certificate.

According to Saul Simon's WW I draft card, Philip born in Vinkee, Russia

This may be the Philip Simon who immigrated in 1880 and who applied for naturalization in the District Courts of Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA. See Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, Vol t, 1880-1887, p. 98

1880 Census lists Philip and Esther Simon living at 59 Tunnel St., Pittsburgh, PA (This would be before any of the children were born.)

16 Jul 1892: He lived at Clark Ave., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. [1691]

1900 census lists a Philip Simon and his wife Esther with children Fannie, Rachel, Samuel, Isaac, Morris, Rosa and Saul living in Pittsburgh. (Note Gertrude not listed.)

1907 lived at 1421 Hazel St. [1345]

1910 Census listed as Filip Simon at 3 1/2 Townsend St., Pittsburgh, PA

1913 lived at Dinwiddie St. [1692]

In 1918 lived at 40 Marion St., Pittsburgh, PA (according to Saul Simon's WW I Draft card)

1920 & 1930 Census list Philip Simon as an "inmate" at the Jewish Home for the Aged.

Oct. 12, 1929: Obituary of William Simon mentions his brother Philip, presumably of Pittsburgh.

Oct. 12, 1934 Obituary of Fannie Simon Nevins mentions her brother Philip
