Information from Fran Snavely & Sylvia Supowitz Lipton: Leon/Louis Lewis had two wites. His first wife, Sarah Goldenson, had three sons:
- David
- Lazarus
- Hyman
These three sons emigrated to Newcastle, England and changed their last name to Joseph.
After Sarah’s death, Leon/Louis married her niece, Dora Goldenson.
There is a Louis Lewis who died in 1895 buried at Beth Hamedrash Hagodol Cemetery (according to information available at www.jewishgen.org). This is likely to be Dora’s husband as their grandson, Leon Lewis, was born in 1896.
