From Daniel C. Biber:" Leon Biber's parents died in his early childhood and he was reared by older siblings. He did not like this arrangement and left Poland in 1923 at age 14. He meandered throughout Europe and was in Spain when the war broke out. The only way to get off thec ontinent was to join the free Polish forces in the UK. He met my mother in a Jewish soldier club in Edinburgh and they married May 23, 1943 (on the Jewish holiday of Lag Ba'Omer, as is traditional). "
In 1945, lived at 88 Warrender, Park Road, Edinburgh, Scotland
After the war (and Jeannie’s death), they moved to Toronto and subsequently (ca. 1952) to California. (Information from Robert Binder.)
